In loving memory of Alexandra Stuart
17 August 1981 – 14 June 2021
Alexandra earned a degree in Archaeology, having always had an extraordinary knack for finding fossils in the most mundane places. As a child she also loved aeroplanes, running and playing county tennis. She spent hours studying wildlife, especially badgers, and loved garden flowers, exploring the countryside and being at the seaside. Always empathic and sweet-natured, Alexandra approached life with mischievous humour and a core of steel. She was a loving and caring daughter and sister who will be dearly missed by all.
Alexandra would have loved to know that she was able to help others. We welcome donations to the Hjelt Spina Bifida Foundation or British Renal Society, via the links below.
Alexandra was born with Spina Bifida, where part of the neural tube does not close properly. So far there is no cure. The Hjelt Spina Bifida foundation funds fundamental research into the cause of Spina Bifida. We hope this knowledge will improve patient outcomes in the future, by preventing or successfully correcting their spinal cord damage.
The British Renal Society was very helpful to Alexandra. They promote effective patient-centred care to improve quality of life for people with kidney failure, their families and carers. They also support research and education on kidney disease and its management.
